Earth Song

 

I hear the whispers of the earth

As she softly speaks to us

I take the time to hear her song

Of love, joy and trust

 

We take from her, we strip her bare

Our needs never satisfied

And the gentle mother watches us learn

 To respect where we reside

 

Our thoughtless acts, our disregard

Our lack of love and wonder

Turns our earth into a place

Some believe we need to plunder

 

Her message is clear “connect with me” she asks

A chance for us to make amends and make up for the past

Her blessing to us now

 for more of us to hear

She is us and  we are her

our earth mother dear

 

Now hold the earth gently

 in your heart and connect

Allow yourself to be as one

And share in the respect

 

To make this choice will set you free

To hear her song

To live in harmony.
